Watermelon Slushies ~ a Raw and Vegan Recipe for Kids!

serves 2 ~ $1.25 per serving

This recipe can be done in much less time simply by planning ahead and freezing chunks of watermelon. Just whir them up in a blender with the remaining ingredients, and you've got nearly instant watermelon slushies.

However, we weren't thinking that far ahead. It's quite possible that's because our brains melted from the heat. Seriously, is it hot enough for ya? Whew. Either way, watermelon slushies will cool you down! See the recipe below, and there's also a video!

ingredients
  • 4 cups watermelon, chopped ($1.50)
  • 2 limes, juiced ($1.00)
  • 2 tablespoons agave (optional)
  • a dash of stevia (optional)

Puree all ingredients in a blender until smooth. Chill until very cool and starting to freeze, which will take about three hours. Process in an ice cream machine until frosty and similar in texture to a snow cone.
