Splitting the Holidays

As I explained in the other post. We currently alternate all holidays between our families. ?So fo example, Christmas Eve with one family Christmas day with the other. ?The only change we made is that Christmas morning is ours so DS and now baby 2 can open their gifts and have breakfast as a family, which will be a bigger deal ahen they're a little older. ?Right now we're just laying the ground work since they're really too little to know the difference. ?We ?live close enough to my parents and ILs to drive on the day of, max distance is my ILs which is an hour). ? Then the afternoon is spent with which ever family's turn it is. ?This was the most fair option we could come up with and MIL still gets mad at us about it.

?Even with this solid plan in place there is always a fight with DH and his mom because if it isn't exactly on her terms it's no good.

That being said it just makes me sad because I want to enjoy the holidays with ?both of our families bit my family is calm and layed back in comparison the both DH and I get so frustrated with his family for being so difficult when it doesn't have to be.

As listed in The other post the holidays we split include: Easter, Mother's Day, Memorial Day, Father's Day, Idependence Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas and New Years.

Though since Independence Day is spent with ILs we usuallyspend Memorial Day doing what we want even though we uuslly get crap for that.
