Present Education Is One-Dimensional

If we say books help to build up a person?s personality, then probably half of the population would say ?yes?. However, we can get the genuine answer by noticing and comparing our very own behavior with our parents and elders. Over the years, the ways of teaching ofcourse have undergone changes, but it has also changed the behaviors of the people gradually. We go to schools not only to get score good and high marks. Schools are also expected to provide the moral education to the students. Earlier, in Schools students were taught about the disciplines, etiquettes, how to behave with elders, etc. However, apart from blaming only the students, it is the teachers who are accountable as well because they hardly take their time to groom the students to make them good human beings.

We can cite the example of Gandhiji to get the fact, how the students of earlier days were.

Once an inspector visited the school, when Gandhiji was in school. All the students were given dictations for a few words. Regrettably, Gandhiji spelled the word incorrect. He wrote ?Ketle? in its place of ?Kettle?. While taking a look over all the notebooks of the students, the teacher saw the mistake of Gandhiji. He tried to convince Gandhiji to copy the copy the word from the boy sitting next to him and correct it. But, small Gandhi refused to copy. This act of him displeased the teacher. However, Gandhiji preferred not to change his mind. He selected to remain with his principle than to choose the corridor of dishonesty. The moral of the story is, you can win the hearts of people by telling many lies but that lasts only for a short period. If you are an honest person, you might not please everybody but can at least please yourself.

Such examples can be used now because teachers themselves don?t offer appropriate education to their students.

They have a preference of providing the knowledge about world matters rather than teaching them the significance of values.

Over the years, the study pressure of the students has become extreme. They can hardly fetch out time for anything else. In such a situation, concentrating in moral education is quite a tough thing. Students are more dependent in Internet now. Internet does not only provide a wide range of knowledge to the students but also devastate their discipline. Especially, the Social Networking Sites are ruining the moral behavior of the students. Now, you must be wondering why such sites are harmful for the students when they give the scope to interact with people and even they don?t allow people below eighteen to get registered with the site. Well, students virtually meet people of different age range and end up telling lie to people that they are above eighteen.

The modern education system is overburdened with syllabus that even teachers copy many materials from Internet and provide those to the students. If we get to learn such thing from teachers then it is pointless to expect anything from the students.
