Thunder and lightning put on a show for people along the northern Olympic Peninsula and the San Juan Islands overnight and continued throughout Friday.
The overnight storms led to about 2,000 power outages around Port Angeles and may have sparked a house fire in Renton.
KING 5's Jeff Renner says thundershowers will continue to pop this evening, with the heaviest cells in the Tacoma area, Everett area, the San Juan islands and also near Sedro Woolley. The potential for thundershowers will likely diminish a bit after sunset, but a few remain possible. Expect overnight lows mostly in the mid to upper 50s.
Saturday, the low pressure driving Friday's storms will slowly slide southward; that will reduce the?instability of the atmosphere and in turn reduce the potential for thundershowers...especially later in?the day. However some thundershowers remain likely Saturday...virtually everywhere in Washington. Highs?in and near the Puget Sound area should?be mostly in the mid 70s to low 80s. Cooler of course?along the shorelines.? Latest Forecast
Doppler Radar showed lightning strikes all across the region on Friday.
Here is a YouTube video of the lightning from Skunk Bay on the northern edge of the Kitsap Peninsula.?

KING 5 News will break into regular programming throughout the day to provide updates on the storms.
