(Just a heads up to everyone, I do plan on making this into a video game. I'm in college and this is a current project I have been working on for a while. I have a lot of information that is not listed and a lot I don't want to use for an RP. Don't worry, your characters will not be included in the actual game[if I ever finish it] and the events will be very different.)

This is a place where you can ask questions about the gemstones and world while making character applications and posting in the actual story. If anything is confusing or you want to check about something, here is the place to do it! First, I'm going to add information that was confusing to some people.

Gemstones are born as gems. They receive Nature's blessing and are unaware unless told of what they are. No one has any way of knowing about gems unless told by Nature or Chaos(and Chaos has to guess) or if a gemstone that had already been told about being a gemstone by the noted sees the signs and tells the gem.

There is only one gem on a gemstones body. It should be in a place that relates to the characters personality or powers.

What I Ate Wednesday in Italy | Food and Fitness 4 Real

Last week I was in Italy for a business trip.? I?m not bragging or complaining, just stating the facts.?

Most of my friends and family have become accustomed to me bringing my DSLR camera?to restaurants, making sure that every plate is photographed before anyone touches their food.? My husband is no longer embarrassed by my intrusive photos, but I knew that?traveling with co-workers?for my business trip may be?a different story.?

However?I was going to be spending a week?eating in Italy and I wanted to practice my photography skills?on the?colorful vegetables, deep red wine, bubbling prosecco, prosciutto?with melon, layers of?tiramisu,?zucchini flowers and the?assorted rice and pasta dishes that we shared around the table each evening.??I warned my colleagues in advance?that I enjoy taking pictures of?food and posting them?on my blog.? Thankfully they?were good-natured enough to endure?my photography practice sessions each night.?

Whew, I am glad I got that out there.? Otherwise you might think that I all did on this trip was eat and drink? a lot.?

One of my favorite things about?dining out in?Italy is starting each?meal?with a glass of prosecco.?We toasted with this sweet, bubbly wine on our first night in Italy and again a few nights later.?

In Italy, it is common to have 3-4 course meals every evening along with prosecco, wine and coffee.? You start with an appetizer, which in our case was?often bruschetta, prosciutto with melon or?zucchini flowers.? Then you order the first course which is often pasta, risotto or rice.?

The second/main course is usually meat, fish or seafood like the large shrimp and roasted fish with shown above.? ?We mainly stuck to fish, veal and shrimp as our main course instead of beef, because we were?warned that beef is often served very rare (almost raw)?in northern Italy.?

If we were not too stuffed at this point, we would order dessert?and coffee?after our meal.? In my opinion, the desserts?in Italy are not?as super?sweet or as rich as americanized desserts.? You will not find?a giant slab of chocolate cake big enough to feed the entire?table on the dessert?menu in Italy.? Instead you visit the dessert?cart and select an apple or almond tart, tiramisu, Panna cotta or berries with gelato.? In my opinion, the perfect ending?to a large meal.

This night we were seated next to a large window in the restaurant, which meant the evening started out with bright, crisp photos.? As the sun went down, I lost the light and my pictures were not as clear.? Then I had to switch to the flash, which does not produce high quality pictures in a restaurant.? On the bright side,?the food this evening was very colorful, flavorful and delicious.?

In Italy we were?7 hours ahead of Dallas time (central time zone), which?of course leads to jet lag.? I?m not sure if this cappuccino or my jet lag was to blame, but after dinner this night I could not fall sleep until after 3 AM!? Unfortunately I still had to be up at 7 AM for?meetings the next day.

Because it is a?long trip to Italy from Dallas, we tried many things to stay awake on the?first day we arrived.? Like drinking EXTRA LARGE beers (mine was the smaller one), eating macarons and making multiple stops for gelato.??

On the last day of our trip, we finished up our meetings by mid-day and decided to take the train north to Lake Como.? For dinner that evening, we?ate on the terrace of a restaurant with breathtaking?lake views against beautiful sunny skies and delicious authentic italian cuisine.??

This 11-minute animation depicts key events of NASA's Mars Science Laboratory mission, which will launch in late 2011 and land a rover, Curiosity, on Mars in August 2012.

Curiosity, the Mini Cooper-size centerpiece of NASA's Mars Science Laboratory (MSL) mission, is due to be lowered onto the Martian surface by a hovering Sky Crane holding it up via tethers. Despite the audacity of the concept, many aerospace engineers say the plan is solid.

"I agree it looks scary, it looks risky, but it's technically sound," said Georgia Institute of Technology professor Bobby Braun, who served as NASA chief technologist from 2010-2011. Braun was not part of the engineering team, based at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, Calif., that designed the Curiosity landing system. "In my view, it's not risky, it's actually the right way to land the system they're trying to land."

The new $2.5 billion rover is designed to analyze samples of Mars rock for signs that our planetary neighbor is, or ever was, habitable to life. Weighing in at 1 ton, Curiosity is too heavy to land with the assistance of cushioning airbags, like NASA's previous two Mars rovers, Spirit and Opportunity.

Instead, parachutes will slow the MSL descent stage toward Mars at first. Then, the descent stage will use rocket engines to dampen its speed further. Finally, at about 115 feet (35 meters) above the surface, the Sky Crane system will lower Curiosity, wheels-down, toward the ground, attached to nylon tethers. The rover is designed to be gently settled on the surface, after which the Sky Crane will detach and fly off to land a distance away. [How Curiosity's Nail-Biting Landing Works (Pictures)]

The plan requires a large number of sophisticated parts to work impeccably, and is utterly different than any previous mechanism used to land a machine on another planet, prompting some to charge that it's a scheme Rube Goldberg would have approved.

"A lot of people seem skeptical of it. I'm not," said Stephen Gorevan, chairman of New York City robotics firm Honeybee Robotics, which built Curiosity's internal Sample Manipulation System, but wasn't involved with the landing strategy. "I just think, the thing has been so tested. I see the electromechanical elements, I'm an engineer, I see at least each individual element of the scheme seems very reliable to me. It's new, it's daring, but I see it working."

Paris Jackson to Janet Jackson: Get the Eff Out!

Details have emerged regarding the incident at the Jackson home in Calabasas this week.

As previously reported, police were called to investigate some sort of altercation on the property, although no arrests were made and no names of family members involved revealed at the time.

But TMZ now cites sources who say it all started when Randy, Jermaine and Janet Jackson drive up in their SUV and tried to force Paris, Prince, and Blanket into the vehicle.

The reported goal? To unite the children with grandmother Katherine Jackson, who has been in Arizona and out of contact for over a week.

HOWEVER, Paris objected to the surprise visit/mission and grew especially angry when Janet tried to take away her cell phone, causing the singer to supposedly scream at her niece:

"You're a spoiled little b*tch!"

Paris Jackson replied: This is our house. Not the Jackson family house. Get the f-ck out, all while cousin Trent Jackson was getting into a physical confrontation with Jermaine Jackson and Randy Jackson in an attempt to keep them away from the three children.

It's a monumental, ugly mess and it all circles back to objections over Michael Jackson's will, which leaves his entire estate to his kids. For the supposed adults in this family, it all comes down a money grab. No matter the personal cost.

N2K Presidential Race: Romney Looks to Burnish Foreign Policy Chops

Stuck in the backstage shadows of a presidential campaign dominatend by the economy, international issues get a rare moment in the spotlight this week.

Both President Obama and Mitt Romney will have give important foreign-policy speeches before the Republican challenger leaves on a three-country trip designed to highlight his differences with the current administration?s diplomacy. The president addressed the Veterans of Foreign Wars convention in Reno on Monday, with his opponent taking the same podium on Tuesday. Then on Wednesday, Romney leaves for London, the start of a trip he hopes will reassure allies overseas, who always fret about change in U.S. leadership, as well as voters back home, who always worry when a governor with no foreign-policy experience wants to be president.

The dueling speeches and the trip come against a backdrop of a presidential campaign that has given little attention to the diplomatic difficulties awaiting the next president. The dozens of GOP debates in the primaries included only a handful of questions on international issues with base-friendly rhetoric substituting for thoughtful discussion.

No one expects foreign policy to determine the winner of the election or achieve the high place on the agenda it enjoyed during the Cold War. But Romney faces the same challenge of any diplomatically inexperienced challenger taking on an incumbent: He must show that he is sure-footed enough to pass the threshold test that he can be trusted to be commander in chief.

China bids for chunk of UK's oil, world price influence

China's top offshore oil producer CNOOC on Monday offered to pay $15.1 billion for Nexen while China's top refiner Sinopec will buy 49 percent in the UK unit of Talisman for $1.5 billion.

Neither firm put much emphasis in their statements on the importance of North Sea oil as a global benchmark while offering to pay hefty premiums, including a 61 percent premium offered by CNOOC for Nexen.

"It is a material share of North Sea oil production," said Lindsay Wexelstein, lead analyst at consultancy Wood Mackenzie. WoodMac's calculations showed both firms would directly own 13 percent of all UK liquids production in 2012 if both deals went through.

Including production, which Nexen and Talisman operate, the two handle around 300,000 bpd, according to Reuters calculations, or almost a third of the dwindling UK North Sea oil output of roughly 1 million bpd. But falling output appears to have done little to put off Chinese oil giants.

The jewel in the crown is the Buzzard oilfield, operated by Nexen with a 43.2 percent stake. It lies in the North Sea about 60 miles northeast of Aberdeen and pumps about 200,000 bpd and is the UK's largest.

Oil from Buzzard, although only 0.2 percent of global supply, plays a crucial role in setting prices because it is the largest contributor to the Forties oil blend, one of four North Sea crude streams making up the Brent oil benchmark.

Forties usually sets the value of dated Brent, a benchmark used for pricing more than half of the world's crude, including oil from Africa, Europe, Asia and the Middle East. Dated is part of the underlying market for Brent crude futures.

As many of my regular viewers to this web blog know, there are many factors contributing to childhood obesity. I post daily here about it, whether news print articles, opinions, feedback, or just personal opinion.

Recently, I wrote an article for Yahoo! (click here) about childhood obesity. I started searching for sources for this article, and received over 100 responses to the question, ?What do you think caused the rise in childhood obesity?? Responses came from professional and Olympic athletes, fitness experts, health experts, nutritionist, and parents.

I was unable to use everyone?s feedback, but thought it would be great to post some of their responses on my blog in a new web series, ?What Causes Childhood Obesity.? I hope that you enjoy the opinions here from various individuals. Please remember, my including their posts does not necessarily mean I agree or endorse their opinion, rather, a place to share other people?s thoughts.

Childhood obesity is on the rise for a number of reasons.

1. Increase in Media time and Video games, Ipads, Itouches, Computers. What kid doesn?t have or have access to their parents Ipad these days or home computer? Instead of when we were kids and our parents only gave us the option to go outside and run around with friends, many parents are letting their kids spend countless hours on the computer or other media device. Whether educational or not, this is a sedentary activity where kids are not burning calories, and this often also leads to over eating. When people eat while engaging in video games or watching TV they are more likely to consume more calories because it is completely mindless, and they don?t realize how much they are eating.

Parents can limit media time to 1 hour per day. When kids are not in school, they should be spending time running around outdoors, in the park, or engaging in after school sports.

2. Increase in packaged/convenience foods. Many households have both parents working so there is less time to prepare healthy meals and snacks. Many parents turn to ?snack packs? which even if they are ?100 calories? are loaded with sugar. These snack packs tend to be unsatisfying which leads a person to crave more sometimes consuming a second package if not more of something else.

Parents need to make time to go to the grocery store and stock up on fruits, vegetables, lean protein and whole grains. If you work full time, pick one day on the weekend to cook a few meals for the week. Cut up vegetables and fruit and leave them in containers in the fridge for easy access.

3. Knowledge: With so much conflicting information out there, some parents just don?t know what is good for their kids any more. Parents also tend to be more lenient these days, and let the child dictate their needs.

My advice, every child is different and has different requirements. Seek advice from a Registered Dietitian if your child is having weight problems.
